PTL Office Interior
INTERIOR DESIGN - 2017
7500 Square Feet of prime office space on the 18th floor of the iconic parkland building, sheer glass exterior floods the interior with immense amounts of natural light, the 180 degree deluxe cityscape of Colombo acts as the back drop to the blank canvas that is now a sleek setting for a corporate office space.
The private office spaces are enclosed with tall sheets of glass from floor to ceiling level, giving an uninterrupted view of the surrounding. The glass is treated with a tinted monotone colour which fades gradually as it spreads towards the celling, providing the privacy the rooms require yet maintaining the translucent feel overall.
The colour and texture palette is based on earthy tones in the form of timber vinyl and cut cement floors, teak finish trellis, and glazing, which gives precedence to the monochrome chairs and tables.
The subtle, recessed lighting detail, which highlights the floor path in the corridor gently compliments the light timber floor and tinted glass planes. The use of feature ring pendant lights in the office space gives a warmth feel that softens the harshness of the office atmosphere.
The main reception, the executive waiting area and the staff lounge are on exposed cut cement flooring highlighting the beige, black, and white based furniture. However the staff lounge has been given a spin of playfulness with the use of bright cherry red bean bags and low oval coffee tables which are scattered randomly throughout the space.
